  • April 17, 2026 | Category: Alert

Updated Friday, April 17, 2026 – Medford Water has received water sample results for those addresses under the Boil Water Advisory issued Thursday, April 16, 2026, which show no bacteria present.

The Boil Water Advisory has been lifted for all affected customers, and it is no longer necessary to boil water.

The advisory was a precaution for our customers to limit risk to health from any possible harmful bacteria. We thank the affected customers for their patience and cooperation during this time and apologize for any inconvenience. For the original advisory, please read below.

Original advisory:

Thursday, April 16, 2026 – Medford Water has issued a precautionary Boil Water Advisory until further notice for approximately 600 customers in a specific area of southwest Medford, including Griffin Creek Elementary School and South Medford High School.

Earlier today, a water main on Archer Drive between Columbus Avenue and Griffin Creek Road was depressurized due to maintenance activities. Due to this brief loss of pressure in the distribution system, potentially harmful bacteria may be present in the water supply for these customers. If these bacteria are present, they could make you sick, and are a particular concern for people with weakened immune systems.

Go to our Alerts Page (medfordwater.org/alerts) for the map and complete list of impacted addresses, as well as Boil Water FAQs.

If you are one of the specified addresses, do not drink the water without boiling it first.

This advisory is a precaution to protect public health until our water quality testing confirms whether bacteria is present or not. Affected customers should continue to boil water for drinking and these other purposes until further notice.
