Medford Water Project Nominated for 2026 ACEC Engineering Excellence Award

Medford Water is proud to announce that our project to expand the Robert A. Duff Water Treatment Plant to 65 MGD (million gallons per day) has been nominated for an Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). This prestigious award recognizes projects that demonstrate exceptional innovation, complexity, and value in improving our world.

The $78 million dollar Robert A. Duff Water Treatment Plant Expansion Project, completed in September 2025, increased the plant’s capacity to produce drinking water from 45 to 65 MGD, as well as complete conveyance improvements necessary to deliver the 65 MGD into our system. It represents a critical infrastructure investment, strengthening the resiliency and flexibility of our drinking water system. It is part of our mission to continue to provide reliable, high-quality drinking water to the communities we serve, and positions us to meet the Rogue Valley’s water needs for decades to come.

This project exemplifies a dedication to delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions that truly make a difference in our communities, and we are honored by this nomination. We commend the construction team at Slayden Constructors, Inc., the engineering team at Jacobs, and all of the design and internal teams for their dedication and hard work.

The ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards program celebrates projects that improve the quality of life, strengthen infrastructure, and drive economic development. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of industry experts in February 2026, and winners announced in May 2026.
