Capital Hill Reservoir Replacement Project Update – Schedule for Week of October 26, 2026
- October 26, 2026 | Category: Ongoing Projects

Our Capital Hill Reservoir Replacement Project has only been underway for a couple of months, but contractor Slayden Constructors has worked quickly to demolish Reservoir 1 and begin excavation, which is ongoing. The associated offsite hauling will likely reduce in volume as it progresses.
Activities for the week of October 26, 2026:
- Traffic control signage
- Site excavation – Moderate offsite hauling
- Rock excavation – Hydraulic hammering of rock; the contractor will work efficiently to get through this phase of work as quickly as possible
- Remedial clean up of local streets
- Medford Water work on in-street piping around the site and preliminary on-site pipework
- Pipework in Valley View driveway entrance – Limited but significant work will be occurring around the Valley View entrance to the site. This will likely be limited to this week; while this driveway will not be regularly used by the contractor, there will be select points that work will occur.
The City of Medford Engineering department continues to provide valuable input and suggestions for how to best navigate traffic control and signage approaches around the site. This is a difficult project in a challenging location, which makes support from neighbors so important and so appreciated.
