Turn in Your Tires, Protect Our Drinking Water

Old tires can do more than clutter up a property—tires left outdoors can collect rainwater and release oils and other pollutants over time when exposed to the elements, especially when dumped near creeks, drainage areas, or rural roads. Recycling them helps keep our watershed cleaner, and thus, also our drinking water sources. We encourage customers and all residents of the watershed to participate in the 2026 Fall Tire Recycle Drive hosted by Jackson County Vector Control:

This community event provides a safe and responsible way to dispose of unwanted tires while helping protect local waterways. Protecting water quality starts with small actions like this throughout our community, and we appreciate efforts that support environmental stewardship. By properly recycling tires, residents help reduce illegal dumping, and prevent water contamination near streams, wetlands, and reservoirs.
