Can You Imagine a Day Without Water?

It’s Imagine a Day Without Water, a national day of action, bringing together communities and policymakers to advance greater and more equitable water investment. Held on October 16, 2025, it’s a national day of awareness that challenges Americans to reflect on how vital water is to every aspect of life.

From brewing morning coffee to keeping businesses running, water touches everything we do. It keeps families healthy, powers local economies, and helps our communities thrive. But too often, we don’t think about it until it’s gone—when a main breaks or other emergency occurs, and the tap runs dry.

Each year, Imagine a Day Without Water invites us to recognize how crucial our need for water really is by visualizing life without it, just for one day. Reliable water isn’t just about convenience, it’s the foundation of public health, economic growth, and community resilience.

According to the 2025 Value of Water Index, most Americans agree that investing in water is essential. Support for prioritizing reliable water access has reached a new high, outranking all other key issues presented to voters. We are committed to this issue as well, and we’ve made it our Vision to be the Rogue Valley’s trusted municipal water provider for present and future generations. We’ve invested millions in projects that have expanded treatment and storage capacity at the Robert A. Duff Water Treatment Plant, will increase transmission and storage capacity to customers, and will modernize the ozone components that mitigate taste, odor, and potential emerging contaminants. This will allow us to create a water system that is more resilient to earthquakes, drought, and climate change, and serves our region into our second hundred years.
