Air burst action on the Rogue River intake
As part of the intake upgrade project, an airburst cleaning system has been installed to remove any debris that might collect on the screens. Debris is carried up and away from the screen surface with a rapid release of air through a manifold of nozzles. Screens can be cleaned daily or at any time as needed, which minimizes the need for costly maintenance.
Most of the water used today within the cities of Southern Oregon's Bear Creek Valley comes from the Big Butte Springs. This pristine water is a treasure for our local communities. How the water that flows from our taps gets there is an interesting story, one that makes us appreciate our valuable water supplies.
