PUBLIC NOTICE: Waterline repairs scheduled for Sunrise Avenue
The Commission has scheduled waterline work to occur on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Approximately six (6) residences will be without water during this period, for up to eight (8) hours.
Customers affected are on Sunrise Avenue, between Capital Avenue and Aloha Avenue.
There will be traffic impacts on Sunrise Avenue with only one open lane of traffic at times and flaggers present.
MWC staff is personally notifying each affected residence, and will leave information on the front door of houses at which nobody is home when notification occurs.
Following are some examples of measures that affected customers might take to accommodate being without water service for this period of time:
- Finish water-using activities before 9:00 a.m. on the day of the outage
- Place pitcher(s) of water in the refrigerator for drinking, etc.
- Pouring water into toilet bowls from buckets placed nearby will enable you to clear toilets during this time.
The shutdown is planned to begin at 9:00 a.m., with repairs expected to be completed by 5:00 p.m.
Affected customers can let their inside cold water faucets run for several minutes after service is restored, to clear any dislodged particles or air in the pipeline.
